Dr. Marilyn N. Norman, Associate Professor, currently serves as the Associate Dean for the 4-H Youth Development Program, a part of the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.  As State 4-H Leader, Dr. Norman is interested in enhancing the quality and depth of the 4-H program through strengthening relationships internally and externally to the university, and by placing greater emphasis on professionalizing the youth development faculty at the county level. She supports the concepts of positive youth/adult partnerships, training for faculty in youth development core competencies and infusing the state 4-H program with elements of the National 4-H Strategic Plan.

Marilyn formerly served as the District Extension Director for District IV for UF/IFAS. Her administrative responsibilities included leadership and programming support for 75 faculty in twelve Central Florida counties. Her prior career experiences were at the University of Illinois Extension Service as a 4-H agent and Unit Leader, both in central Illinois and in Chicago.  Her degrees are in home economics from Iowa State University, human guidance and counseling from Bradley University, and public policy analysis from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
