287,156 youth. Spanning ages 5-18, the 4-H program is active in all of Florida's 67
counties and on the Seminole Tribes reservations in south Florida.

- 24.8% (71,075) lived in towns under
10,000 and in open country
- 41.6% (119,371) lived in towns and
cities of 10,000 to 50,000 residents
- 9.7% (27,892) lived in suburbs of
cities over 50,000

50,000

Adult and Teen Volunteers
Volunteers are the key to successful delivery of 4-H educational programs.
Last year, 17,404 4-H volunteers assisted 4-H youth. There were 14,280 adult 4-H volunteers and
1,562 teen volunteer leaders.
4-H Project Enrollments
Total enrollment in 4-H projects was 411,333. Many 4-H members choose more
than one 4-H project area.

report for the Sept. 1, 2000 to August 31, 2001 program year. These numbers are compiled annually from county 4-H reports, which are
based on 4-H enrollment. In Florida, county 4-H programs use a software
