OAK--Where else can you pick a pumpkin, learn about plants that grow
without soil, and solve the mystery of the corn maze? Why, the Suwannee
Valley Research and Education Center's 50th anniversary celebration!
Nearly 700 school children got to enjoy having fun
while learning on October 24, 2000. 4-H agents from surrounding counties,
FFA'ers and volunteers partnered with the station to provide a fun morning
full of learning. The evening festivities included speeches, a hayride and
a tent where youth could decorate pumpkins and enjoy face painting. Click
