Poster Certification Statement

Participation Criteria

Junior 4-H’ers must be 8-10 years old by September 1 of the current program year.
Intermediate 4-H'ers must be 11-13 years old by September 1 of the current program year.
Senior 4-H’ers must be 13-18 years old by September 1 of the current program year.

Guidelines

All posters must be designed on or affixed to poster board with dimensions are no larger than 14" X 22". 
Posters may be horizontal or vertical. 
Posters should use the contest theme “4-H In Your Community”
Posters submitted may be produced using any medium (i.e. watercolor, ink, crayon, acrylic, charcoal, oils, collage) providing that they are not three-dimensional.
Posters incorporating copyrighted material (i.e. Snoopy, Calvin & Hobbes, and logos like Disney) will be disqualified. 
Posters using computer assistance to create components of the poster or the poster itself should affix a statement of one paragraph explaining how the computer assistance affected the poster’s composition and visual presentation.
The 4-H Poster Contest Certification Statement Form must be signed by the contestant and securely attached to the back of the poster board in the upper right hand corner.
Youth’s name, age and county must be clearly printed on the back of ALL submitted materials
Automatic Disqualification
Inappropriate size and/or mounted material.
Incomplete or illegible certification statements and/or not securely attached and visible without unfolding or removing from envelopes.
Name, age, and county not clearly printed on the back.
Use of copyrighted materials.
Three-dimensional posters.
  Inappropriate use of the 4-H Emblem.
Use of computer-generated components without a statement regarding this affect.

Participation Procedures

Counties may submit no more than one poster design by any individual 4-H member.
District:  Each county may exhibit up to three posters at district events.  Since some counties may not have concluded their poster event and selected county winners, these posters may or may not be county-winning posters.  Posters may be designed by either junior, intermediate or senior 4-H members.
State: The top three posters from each county must be submitted to the State 4-H PR Office no later than June 1 of the current program year to be eligible for judging and exhibition at Florida 4-H Congress. 

Awards

The top three individuals per county who submit posters to the state level will receive a certificate
The top three junior and intermediate individuals will receive certificates and top three senior individuals at the state 4-H poster competition will receive trophies. 
Senior winners will be displayed at Florida 4-H Congress.  
Each 4-H’er who takes part in district level competition will receive a participation certificate.
