Warren
E. Schmidt is a retired Senior Officer (Youth Programs) of the Food and
Agricultural Organization of the United Nations in Rome, Italy.
He was a 4-H member in his youth and served as a leader in
Wisconsin, Ohio and Florida. Schmidt had a tremendous worldwide impact
developing programs, attaining resources, and serving as role model for
youth. Schmidt was a great help in planning and implementing 4-H volunteer
training and teen recreational leadership training. He chaired the 4-H
county coordinating committee and served on its 4-H Foundation board for
many years. He brought his worldwide experience to Florida and made
4-H’ers globally aware. He has truly served as a 4-H Ambassador to the
world. “I have devoted my whole life to 4-H. I believe strongly in all
that 4-H has to offer youth, adults, communities and our world. I strongly
support learning by doing, citizenship, leadership, and strengthening the
quality of life for all,” he said.
