Maxine
Clayton started her volunteer career with 4-H in 1952. Even though she
didn’t have any children of her own she saw a need for youth in her
county and started a 4-H club. She served as leader, judge, speaker and
organizer in addition to serving as a member of the Pasco County Fair
Association. Every year she shows her support by purchasing at least one
project animal raised by a 4-H youth, and she is always willing to assist
4-H. The community knows
about the good things 4-H does thanks to Clayton. “I enjoy and take
great pleasure helping the youth of Pasco County,” Clayton said. Maxine
Clayton and her husband Collie take great pleasure in helping 4-H youth.
Because of their devoted efforts to 4-H the Agriculture Auditorium was
renamed Clayton Hall in their honor. Today she serves as a Pasco County
4-H Foundation member, and she still helps 4-H any way she can.
