Diane Anderson

As a 4-H parent, supporter and active volunteer for 30 years specializing in energy, cars, trucks, engines, grease, petroleum power, wood working, shooting sports and equestrian events, Diane Anderson found her calling in 4-H. She has participated in classrooms, mall exhibits, car washes, horse shows, and volunteered 80 hours a week at the Central Florida Fair for more than 30 years. Diane Anderson’s insight into disabilities and physical limitations of people is invaluable to the program. Her name shines out at every leaders forum. Anderson is responsible for teaching the demonstrations, training adult volunteers personally, and reaching out to troubled teens who refer to her as “cool Mom.” She radiates the philosophy “Make the Best Better.” As a 4-H volunteer, parent, advocate and program advisor Anderson’s greatest contribution is her ability to make young people feel included. According to Anderson the children must count because they are the future and they must be able to cope.  Anderson has personally trained more than 500 volunteers in Florida and volunteered more than 15,000 hours for the 4-H program. She is constantly promoting 4-H opportunities to anyone who will listen. “Being a senior citizen isn’t all that bad as long as one can be a volunteer. When the good lord gives you a chance to do something good for somebody, I just feel like you should get in there and do it!
