Helen Adler

Known as “The 4-H Lady” Helen Adler has been active in 4-H for 53 years. Adler’s 4-H career began in Rockland County, New York as a 4-H club member for 10 years and a leader for three.  Adler has been an active leader in Palm Beach County for 43 years, where she serves on the advisory committee, and is a role model for many 4-H leaders. “During the past 43 years, I have learned to understand our youth by listening and working with them,” Adler said. Adler once managed three 4-H clubs at one time and has worked with many children with special needs. She also chaperoned 4-H Congress and Legislature. She has represented 4-H at several national meetings and won many awards, including the Palm Beach County Commissioners’ Award for Outstanding Volunteer Services, for her years of 4-H service. 4-H members look to her for advice and confide in her about their personal situations.  Many of her members have continued with 4-H in their adult lives and have their children in Adler’s club.  Adler is still a very active leader with her Helpful Hearts 4-H Club, and the club is very successful. Adler said, “ My personal growth has given me a feeling of being loved and needed. Meeting young people keeps me young and part of this generation.”
