Moving Ahead Together - Adolescent Growth and Development. The Moving Ahead Together staff development curriculum provides complete lesson plans and participant support materials to prepare adults to work effectively with youth in non-formal (out of school) settings. This 600-page curriculum has demonstrated success in providing both youth development professionals and volunteer youth workers with a baseline understanding of the principles and practices of youth development work. Instructions for trainers in the delivery of these materials are clear and easily followed. The use of a "What to Do", "What to Say" format and the inclusion of handout and overhead masters contribute to the user-friendly nature of the lesson plans. The curriculum supports a five day (40 hour) workshop.

Babyopoly - An Educational Game...About Life. [Grades 6-12] Presents itself as a game, but also helps young people consider the real life responsibilities that come from sexual involvement. It offers three scenarios for a prospective parent: (1) early to mid teen years faced with obtaining government assistance for support; (2) post high school, with no further education, having to support family on low wages; and (3) after college, having waited to secure a future. Monthly budgets are made up from real dollar figures based on educational level attained. Bills have to be paid and decisions made along the way to the next "first of the month". When all teams have either run out of money or made it to the next month, a facilitator stops the play and initiates interactive discussions for students to evaluate their experiences in each of the life situations that a baby can enter. Students are asked to share their insights about what they learned and how their new found understanding will affect their future behavior. Available through National 4-H.
Building Self Esteem Through the Museum of I. [Grades 4-8] Gives young people the opportunity to explore, reveal and celebrate themselves. Twenty-five original projects invite original thinking and creative expression in varied forms.
