The UF Vista image is not yet available to be pre-loaded by the manufacturer, but will be offered by both HP and Lenovo/GovConnection. Testing is expected to be complete and the image available for download around the first week of June. The image contains settings that were determined to be common and appropriate for the UF environment, as well as software that is used in the majority of campus locations such as Office 2007, McAfee Virus Scan and Acrobat Reader. The image will be provided to our major hardware vendors and we anticipate it being available as a preinstalled option on systems ordered by UF departments. Please monitor http://vista.ad.ufl.edu for the latest information on the release of the UF Vista image.
HP Revised Bundles 5/31/07 pdf xls summary pdf xls
These are the final units for now. As HP releases new products (mainly on the mobility lines) the newer models will be added. The Core 2 Duo dc7700s and Workstations will support Vista 64-bit, although the driver CD shipping with XP Professional systems only has the XP drivers.
The monitors are separated from the bundles and listed as a separate line item with a separate cost. Originally, the monitor was included in each build. Now you have your choice of a 24 or 19 widescreen monitor.
7200RPM drives were added as available as well as the
requested XP Home OS. Where available, 7200RPM drives have been added--primarily
in the desktop and the higher end notebooks.
The DVD burner drives usually come with Roxio software.
